Sea Cargo to Nigeria from the UK — The Smart Way to Ship Heavy.
The most cost-effective way to send large quantities from the UK to Nigeria — weekly departures, LCL from £18 per cubic foot, and door-to-door delivery to all 36 states.
The smart choice for large, heavy, or bulk shipments — cargo by sea from the UK to Nigeria. If you are sending multiple boxes, barrels of foodstuffs, household furniture, electrical appliances, white goods, or bulk commercial goods, sea cargo gives you the most economical rate per kilogram of any shipping method — typically 60–70% cheaper than air freight for the same weight. Precebol Logistics runs weekly LCL (Less than Container Load) groupage sea freight departures from UK ports, meaning your cargo does not sit in a warehouse waiting for a full container — it moves on schedule, every week.
Pricing. Sea cargo to Nigeria starts from £18 per cubic foot for LCL shipments. Barrels (45–55 gallon) are priced per barrel. Large or full-container (FCL) shipments are quoted separately based on volume and contents. All pricing includes UK-side export documentation and Nigerian port clearance — no surprise charges on arrival. Call (+44) 7946 272819 or WhatsApp for an immediate quote.
How sea cargo works with Precebol. We collect from your UK address, or you can drop off at our Camberwell hub. Items are consolidated with other customers’ cargo in shared containers (LCL) or booked into a dedicated container (FCL) for large commercial volumes. Sea transit from UK port to Lagos takes approximately 4–6 weeks. Total door-to-door delivery time — including UK collection, port processing, Lagos customs clearance, and last-mile delivery in Nigeria — is typically 5–6 weeks. For inland Nigerian states (Abuja, Kano, Port Harcourt, Enugu), allow a few additional days for the final leg.
What you can send. Sea cargo handles everything that airlines typically restrict by size, weight, or category: large furniture sets, generators, refrigerators, washing machines, mattresses, industrial equipment, palletised trade goods, and full household removals. Barrels of food, clothing, and household items are among the most common sea cargo shipments on the UK-Nigeria route. We advise on packing, declaration, and prohibited items before collection.
LCL or FCL — which do you need? LCL (Less than Container Load) is right for most individual and small-business customers — your goods share container space with others and you pay only for the space you use. FCL (Full Container Load) is cost-effective when you have enough volume to fill a 20ft or 40ft container. A 20ft container typically holds around 25–28 cubic metres of cargo. We’ll advise which option saves you more at the time of your quote.
Nigerian customs clearance is included. Many freight agents charge separately for Nigerian port clearance or leave it to the customer to arrange. Precebol handles clearance through our Lagos office and licensed clearing agents as part of the standard sea cargo service. We prepare all packing lists, commercial invoices, and HS code declarations on the UK side to minimise clearance delays at Apapa or Tin Can Island port.
